NEW CHURCH OPENING: Rock of Grace Church in Kinsman is expanding to Warren and will launch a new campus in the former Church of God Eastside, 137 Vine Ave. SE. The first worship service will be on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. In 2019, Rock of Grace opened a campus in Cortland, making Warren its third campus. The pastors of the Warren site are Andrew and Monica Pitts.

TORAH STUDIES: The Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will host the ongoing virtual series Torah Studies for Christians on Wednesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

The Bible Education Series is an opportunity for Christians to reflect on the scriptures using video resources from various scripture scholars. This month’s topic is “St. Augustine and the Jews.

Participants do not need to attend all sessions in this series. The Zoom link will be available on the website at Registration is not required. A voluntary offering will be received.

FIRST FRIDAY CLUB: The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown Lecture Series season continues through 2022 with a Thursday lunch noon at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road in Canfield.

The speaker is Tina Whitehead, a volunteer with Sabeel, a Palestinian Christian peace and justice movement. Whitehead will present “Hope in the absence of hope.”

BIBLE STUDY: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will host a peacemaking and nonviolence bible study from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays from January 5 to February 2. The sessions take place in the presbytery of the church.

BOAR’S HEAD: Tickets are on sale for the 60th annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival. The festival, one of the oldest in the country, will be held Jan. 9 at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Show tickets cost $ 10 each.

The festival is a unique offering of praise to Jesus Christ on His Epiphany and features the boar’s head and Christmas log festival choir and brass. There will be 100 St. John’s parishioners dressed in medieval costumes as well as other surprises.

KINGDOM KIDS: Southington Christian Church, 3285 State Route 534, will be hosting a Kingdom Kids program from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on January 9.

FAMILY GAME NIGHT: Howland United Methodist Church will be hosting a Family Play Night from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on January 9.

FAITH IN ACTION: “Funding faith in action” will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on January 11 via Zoom. CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S LUNCH: The Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will host its monthly lunch from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on January 12 at the Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The theme is Happy New Year and will include a presentation by Linda Stanko and Suzy Fritch of Beautiful Curiosities. Music will be provided by Ginny Queen and the speaker will be Bill Rotar from Columbiana, whose subject will be “Victory in the face of adversity.”
