Philip Lawrence Stack, 92, of the Mary Queen of Angels Assisted Living Center, Nashville, Tenn., Passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
He was born on February 16, 1929 to Joseph and Susan Hudock Stack, in Wilkes-Barre. He graduated from the township of Wilkes-Barre. High School then attended King’s College Wilkes-Barre for two years. He received his BA in Psychology from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. He went on to obtain his Masters and Doctorate degrees from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.
Dr. Stack married Fe ‘Elizes Cabuso on January 25, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Danville, the town where they met. Dr. Stack’s career in clinical psychology involved working in mental hospitals in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. He was a member of the American Psychological Association and was passionate about writing poetry, children’s education books, making greeting cards for multiple occasions, and writing songs, including the number one hit. “Renew”. He volunteered in the Boy Scouts of America as a Hideout Leader and Grand Adventure Leader.
Dr Stack was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Borkowski and Mary Stack; and his brother, Joseph Stack Jr.
Dr. Stack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fe ‘; children, Gregory, Lawrence, Philip, Lucille (Schrum), Frederick, Robert; grandchildren, Carrie High, Michael Kelley, Grady, Laura (Reid), Andrew, Emily, Taylor (Pyle), Meredith (Carter), Lindsey, Joshua, Elijah, Jaclyn, Madison, Tatum, Kiya, Riley, Caston, Jayden , Brooklyn and Kennady; great-grandchildren, Trey (High) and Isla Rose.
Visitations followed by a Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Christian funeral mass following at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
