RACINE, WI – Betty Marwhen passed away on February 9, 2022, she was 95 years old. She was born on February 15, 1926, in Oak Creek, Colorado, and spent her early years in rural towns on Colorado’s West Slope where her father taught school. In the early 1980s, she moved to Wisconsin to attend Nashota House Theological Seminary where she earned a master’s degree in theology and was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church. A few years later, she completed a clinical pastoral education program in Savannah, Georgia, and after returning to Racine, she served as a chaplain at St. Luke’s Hospital. In retirement, she remained an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Racine and took numerous art classes at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She loved to paint and make things and always had a project going.
